The Scooby Snack Cocktail

scooby snack cocktail in short cocktail glassThe Scooby Snack is a strange cocktail. Rumoured to be created on a dare by a couple of bartenders in the midwest, this tasty cocktail keeps you coming back again and again for another. Do you remember those days of the gang in the Mystery Machine being chased by campy ghosts and obvious villains? Scooby was always eager to down a Scooby Snack and drinkers of this cocktail are also known to go a little crazy for it.

What to put in your Scooby Snack Cocktail

  • 1/4 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
  • 1 oz Malibu Rum
  • 1/4 oz Creme de Banane
  • 1 oz Milk
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice

Preparation of this fun cocktail

  1. Add ice to a shaker glass, half full
  2. Measure and add the Melon and Banana Liqueurs, along with the Malibu Rum to your shaker glass
  3. Add your pineapple juice
  4. Shake vigorously to merge your booze and juice
  5. Add milk into glass
  6. Pour in your mixture from the shaker.
  7. Enjoy!

We don’t shake the milk with the juice, just in case it curdles. Customers can be very particular about curdled milk. Of course, you could just give it a shot. If you don’t have curdling due to the acidity of the pineapple… then rework your preparation steps.

This fun cocktail could be shaken and strained into a cocktail glass, then served as a fun martini.  Prepare this drink also as a shot, although complicated to create. To create a Scooby Snack shot, you will want to revise the recipe to get the drink down to a single ounce in size. Try the following

Scooby Snack Shooter

  • 1/4 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Malibu Rum
  • 1/4 oz Creme de Banane
  • dash of Milk
  • dash of Pineapple Juice

Take the above 5 ingredients and add them to a shaker tin with ice. Shake vigorously 8-10 times, and then strain into a 2oz shot glass. Chances are your guests will not order just one of these, so be prepared to make these in twos or fours at a time.
